Scratch Leagues
A private betting league for your group.
Everyone starts with the same paper bankroll and bets real sportsbook lines. When the league’s window closes, the highest bankroll wins the pot. Bets on the board are play money. They move your paper bankroll, never real cash.
Scratch Leagues doesn’t collect or hold money. Your commissioner handles entry fees and payouts.
What this is
A private betting league for friends. The commissioner sets the window, the buy-in, and how the pot is split. You bet FanDuel lines on the Board. Highest current bankroll when the window closes wins.
Get started
- Sign up with your email. One account per email.
- Get a join code from your commissioner. Codes are shared privately, never posted.
- Join from Home → Join or start a league. Or start your own league and become its commissioner.
- Bet. Open the Board, tap a price, set your stake, place it.
How you win
The commissioner sets the entry fee (minimum $10 per seat) and how the pot is split among finishing places.
Ties: tied bankrolls share a place in the standings. Your commissioner pays the pot outside the site.
Bets still open when the league closes: they grade when those games finish. Standings are final after the last one settles. New bets cannot be placed after the window ends.
Betting rules
- Lines come from FanDuel. They refresh periodically. The price on your ticket is locked when you place it.
- Locks: each game locks at its scheduled kickoff. Locked games stay on the board but can’t be bet.
- Markets: spread, moneyline and total. First-half and team-total markets appear only when available. Your league’s commissioner chooses which are open.
- Parlays: allowed if your league turns them on, including same-game parlays if enabled. Two or more picks on the slip default to a parlay. Switch the slip to Straight bets to wager each pick on its own.
- Same game, spread and moneyline: you can’t hold both on the same game. Adding one removes the other from your slip.
- Cancel: you can cancel a pending bet until that game’s scheduled kickoff.
- Grading: when a game is final, each pick grades won, lost or push. A straight-bet push returns your stake. A push inside a parlay drops that leg, and the parlay pays at the odds of the remaining legs.
- Finished games leave the board a few hours after they end.
Your bankroll
- Current is your bankroll from settled bets. Available is current minus the stakes on your pending bets.
- The commissioner sets the minimum bet and, optionally, a maximum.
- If current hits $0, you’re out, unless your league allows one rebuy back to the starting bankroll.
Privacy
Before kickoff, other players see only that you have a pending bet, not the pick. After that game kicks off, the pick is public on Home. You can always see your own pending picks.
The commissioner
The commissioner can: set the entry fee, payouts, league dates, sports, markets and bet limits, and turn parlays and rebuys on or off, before the league starts. After that, those settings lock. They can still pin or delete chat posts, reset a player’s password, and regenerate the join code.
Password resets: the commissioner sees the temporary password. Change it as soon as you log in.
The commissioner can’t type a new number into anyone’s bankroll, or change locked league settings after the window starts.
Your account
Passwords are stored hashed, so no one can look yours up. If you forget it, ask your commissioner for a reset (see above), then change it on Home.

- Why did my spread pick disappear when I tapped the moneyline?
- Same-game spread and moneyline can’t be held together; the new pick replaces the old one.
- Can I cancel a bet?
- Yes, until that game’s scheduled kickoff.
- Where do the odds come from?
- FanDuel, refreshed periodically.
- Does the site take my money?
